Run the display ip interface brief command. The configuration succeeds when brief IP
information and physical status of an interface appear. For example:
<Nortel> display ip interface brief
*down: administratively down
(l): loopback
(s): spoofing

1.3.1 Clearing interface statistics
To clear the statistics, run the following reset command in the user view.
Action Command
Clear the interface statistics. reset counters interface [ interface-type
[ interface-number ] ]
1.3.2 Debugging interfaces
Debugging affects the performance of the system. After debugging, run the undo debugging
all command to disable it immediately.
When a fault occurs on an interface, run the debugging command in the user view to locate
the fault.

sections in this manual.
