Nortel Secure Router 8000 Series
Configuration -WAN Access 8 Frame relay configuration
Issue 5.3 (
30 March 2009) Nortel Networks Inc. 8-75
Troubleshooting procedure
Do as follows on the routers:
Step 1 Check whether there are routes to the peer by using the display ip routing-table command. If
there are no routes to the peer, run the display this interface command in the interface view,
and check whether the physical status and the link protocol of the interface are Up.
Step 2 Check the interface status by using the display this interface command. If the status of the
interface is Down, reconnect the physical link.
Step 3 Check the link layer protocol by using the display this interface command. If the status of
the protocol is Down, run the link-protocol command to configure interfaces at both sides
with the same link protocol.
Step 4 Check the status of the tunnel by using the display interface tunnel command. If the tunnel
is Down, run the undo shutdown command to restart the tunnel. If the link protocol of the
tunnel is Down, the tunnel is not affected.
Step 5 Check whether the DLCIs of tunnel interfaces on two ends are consistent by using the display
fr switch-table all command. If the interfaces are not consistent, run the undo fr switch
command to delete the existing switching PVC, and then run the fr switch command and
configure DLCIs of tunnel interfaces on both ends to be consistent.
