8-18 Nortel Networks Inc. Issue 5.3 (
30 March 2009)
NOTE
Before you create an MFR sub-interface, ensure that the MFR main interface exists; otherwise, you
cannot create an MFR sub-interface.
Step 3 Run
ip address ip-address { mask | mask-length }
The IP address of the MFR interface is configured.
Step 4 Run:
fr interface-type dte
The command configures the FR interface type as DTE.
NOTE
The fr interface-type dte command is valid for MFR main interfaces rather than MFR sub-interfaces.
Step 5 Choose one of the following steps to configure the address mapping as required.
NOTE
The fr inarp ip command is valid for MFR main interfaces rather than MFR sub-interfaces.
z
Run the fr map ip { ip-address [ mask ] | default } dlci-number [ broadcast [ ietf |
nonstandard ] ] command to add a static address mapping.
z
Run the fr inarp [ ip ] [ dlci-number ] command to enable the dynamic address
mapping.
----End
When deleting an MFR interface, first remove the bundle on all real physical interfaces.
For an MFR interface, as long as one of the physical interfaces bundled on it is in up status
physically, the physical status of MFR is up. The physical status of MFR turns to down only
when all the physical interfaces bundled on it are physically down. The link protocol status of
MFR interface depends on LMI packet negotiation.
Configuring the MFR interface on DCE
Do as follows on the routers:
Step 1 Run:
system-view
The system view appears.
Step 2 Run:
interface mfr interface-number[.subnumber [ p2mp | p2p ] ]
The MFR interface view appears.
NOTE
Before you create an MFR sub-interface, ensure that the MFR main interface exists; otherwise, you
cannot create an MFR sub-interface.
Step 3 Run:
