8 Frame relay configuration

interface interface-type interface-number.subnumber
The FR sub-interface view appears.
Step 3 Run:
fr dlci dlci
The command configures the DLCI of the interface.
For an FR sub-interface, you must configure the DLCI. In addition, DLCIs on both ends
must be consistent.

8.2.5 Checking the configuration
Run the following commands to check the previous configuration.
Action Command
Check the status of the FR protocol
and information about the interface.
display fr interface interface-type
interface-number[.subnumber ]
Check the mapping between the
protocol address and the FR address.
display fr map-info [ interface interface-type
interface-number[.subnumber ] ]
Run the display fr interface command. When the status of the FR protocol and information
about the interface appears the configuration succeeds.
<Nortel> display fr interface
Serial6/0/0, DCE, physical up, protocol up
Serial6/0/0.2, multi-point, protocol up
Serial6/0/0.3, point-to-point, protocol up
Run the display fr map-info command. When the mapping between the protocol address and
the FR address appears the configuration succeeds.

When the network topology is stable and does not change over a long time, you can configure
FR static address mapping.
