Step 5 Configure Router A and Router B to authenticate their peers through user names.
# On Router A, specify the VT to which the interface of Router B is bound through
authentication using user name.
[RouterA] ppp mp user rtbpap bind virtual-template 1
[RouterA] ppp mp user rtbchap bind virtual-template 1
# On Router B, specify the VT to which the interface of Router A is bound through user name
authentication.
[RouterB] ppp mp user rtapap bind virtual-template 0
[RouterB] ppp mp user rtachap bind virtual-template 0
Step 6 Restart the bundled sub-channel.
# Restart the sub-channel of Router A.
[RouterA] interface serial1/0/0
[RouterA-Serial1/0/0] shutdown
[RouterA-Serial1/0/0] undo shutdown
[RouterA-Serial1/0/0] quit
[RouterA] interface serial1/0/1
[RouterA-Serial1/0/1] shutdown
[RouterA-Serial1/0/1] undo shutdown
[RouterA-Serial1/0/1] quit
# Restart the sub-channel of Router B.
[RouterB] interface serial1/0/0
[RouterB-Serial1/0/0] shutdown
[RouterB-Serial1/0/0] undo shutdown
[RouterB-Serial1/0/0] quit
[RouterB] interface serial1/0/1
[RouterB-Serial1/0/1] shutdown
[RouterB-Serial1/0/1] undo shutdown
[RouterB-Serial1/0/1] quit
NOTE
To ensure the success of the MP binding, restart the bundled sub-channels together.
Step 7 Verify the configuration.
# Check the binding on Router A. In the bold information of the display, for example, "Bundle
rtbchap" indicates the physical link named rtbchap is bound to the VT based on user name.
