6.12.6 Example for configuring MP authentication binding using
the VT
Networking requirements
You connect Router A and Router B through two pairs of serial ports. You perform MP direct
binding based on virtual-template as shown in
Figure 6-4.
You are required to ensure that the serial 1/0/0 interfaces of Router A and Router B adopt PAP
authentication; while the Serial 1/0/1 interfaces of Router A and Router B adopt CHAP
authentication.
Configuration roadmap
The configuration roadmap is as follows:
1. Configure the Serial 1/0/0 interfaces of Router A and Router B with PAP authentication.
2. Configure the Serial 1/0/1 interfaces of Router A and Router B with CHAP
authentication.
