5 Logical interface configuration
Nortel Secure Router 8000 Series
Configuration -WAN Access
5-10 Nortel Networks Inc. Issue 5.3 (
30 March 2009)
Step 2 Run:
interface virtual-template vt-number
The command creates a VT and the VT view appears.
Step 3 Run:
broadcast-limit link number
The command configures the maximum link number supported by the virtual template for
sending multicast or broadcast packets.
The multicast or broadcast packets sent out from each link may affect the system performance
if there are too many links in the virtual template.
Using the broadcast-limit link command, you can restrict the packets since the packets are
dropped when the link number exceeds the maximum number.
NOTE
Nortel recommends that you do not configure multiple services such as MP, L2TP, and PPPoE on a VT.
By default, the maximum link number is 30 for the virtual template.
