Installing and Replacing a Processor Card
You can add or replace a processor card with the power on or off.
To replace a processor card, see the next section, “Removing a Processor Card
.”
To install a processor card, see “Installing a Processor Card
” on page 4-8.
Removing a Processor Card
You can remove a processor card with the power on or off.
To remove a processor card:
1.
Attach the antistatic wrist strap.
For instructions, see “Attaching the Antistatic Wrist Strap
” on page 4-3.
2.
Disconnect any cables attached to the ports on the processor card.
3.
Using a flat-tip screwdriver, loosen the 2 captive screws securing the
processor card to the chassis (Figure 4-4)
.
Caution:
Do not operate the Versalar 15000 with an empty processor card
slot. If you need to replace a failed processor card and you do not yet have a
replacement card, leave the failed processor card installed or install an air flow
module as originally shipped with the chassis.
