Installing and Maintaining the Versalar Switch Router 15000
3-22
308684-B Rev 00
When you insert an operational second power module into the Versalar 15000
with the power on, both LEDs on the power module turn on. At the same time, the
Versalar 15000 automatically redistributes the load between the two power
modules.
If neither of the two LEDs on the power module turns on, contact the Nortel
Networks Technical Solutions Center.
Removing an AC Power Module
To remove a power module:
1.
Using a flat-tip screwdriver, loosen the captive screw that fastens the
power module to the chassis.
2.
Grasp the latch and gently pull it toward you until the power module
disengages (Figure 3-13)
.
3.
Grasp the handle of the power module with your other hand and using
both hands, pull the power module out of the separate AC power unit.
You can remove an operational power module without affecting the operation
of the Versalar 15000. When you remove a power module, the LEDs on the
power module turn off, and the Versalar 15000 automatically redistributes the
load to the remaining power module.
4.
Install a new power module (see “Installing an AC Power Module” on
page 3-20
) or install a power filler module (see “Removing and Installing
a Power Filler Plate” on page 3-7).
Warning:
The sides of the power module are hot when you remove the power
module from a Versalar 15000 that has been operating recently. Hold the
power module by the bottom.
