Nortel Secure Network Access Switch 4050 Installation Guide
Terminal requirements
To establish a connection with a Nortel Secure Network Access Switch 4050, the
following requirements are necessary:
• An ASCII terminal or a computer running ASCII terminal emulation software
with the parameters shown in Table 6.
• A console cable, male to female, with DB-9 connectors and 1 to 1 connections
(shipped with the Nortel Secure Network Access Switch 4050).
Console connector and pin assignments
The console port on the unit is a DCE female DB-9 connector. Table 7 describes
pin signal and I/O assignments for this connector.
