Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA)
The central registry for various assigned
numbers, for example, Internet protocol
parameters (such as port, protocol, and
enterprise numbers), options, codes, and types.
Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP)
A collection of error conditions and control
messages exchanged by IP modules in both
hosts and gateways.
Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF)
A standards organization for IP data networks.
Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP)
A host membership protocol used to arbitrate
membership in multicast services.
Internet Group membership Authentication Protocol
(IGAP)
An authentication and accounting protocol for
clients that receives multicast streams.
Internet Protocol Control Packet (IPCP)
Establishes and configures Internet Protocol data
transmission over a Point-to-Point Protocol link.
Internet Protocol Flow Information eXport (IPFIX)
An IETF standard that improves the Netflow V9
protocol. IPFIX monitors IP flows on the Nortel
Ethernet Routing Switch 8600 platforms, and on
other Nortel switching platforms.
Internet Protocol multicast (IPMC)
The technology foundation for audio and
video streaming, push applications, software
distribution, multipoint conferencing, and proxy
and caching solutions.
Internet Protocol security (IPsec)
A secure version of the Internet Protocol (IP) that
provides optional authentication and encryption
at the packet level.
