GWGEM SW maintains the GEM Control State finite state machine
([RefGWGEMUser] p. 93 Remote Control).
FMW is responsible for the following ([ RefGWGEMUser] p 99 ‘Other Control State
Considerations’):
· Providing a Process Control State Change extension routine ([RefGWGEMRef]
NoteControlState).
· GUI display of the current State.
· Provide operator commands for Go Local and Go Remote.
· When ControlState is LOCAL, reject remote commands appropriately.
· When ControlState is REMOTE, reject local commands appropriately, and call
GemNoteEvent to signal the OperCmd Event.
The current Control State is displayed in the GEM status bar in lower portion of all
windows except the Run Window. In Remote State configuration, teaching, and tools
features are not available to the operator. This prevents the operator form interfering
with Remote operations.
