1.11.7 SECS/GEM Setup Dialog Box in FmNT
The SECS/GEM Setup dialog box can be accessed by pressing the SECS/GEM button in the FmNT Main
Window. The dialog box contains tabs with buttons and drop-down menus for control and setup of GEM
features. These tabs are described in Figure 1-2 through Figure 1-6.

1 – FmNT GEM Version Information.
2 Control On-Line Local: The Operator has control of the system. The system will
reject most Host commands. The Host can monitor operations, but cannot
control processing. In this state, the system will not accept a REMOTE
command from the Host.
On-Line Remote: The Host has control of the system. The Operator may
issue a Pause, Stop, or Abort command.
Off-Line: Puts the system Off-Line.
3 Get Date & Time Requests current date and time from the Host.
4 Status Box Displays the current communication state, control state, and spooling state.
5 Spooling Disable: Neither messages nor commands will be spooled and re-sent if the
communications link between the Host and the dispensing system is
temporarily disrupted.
Enable: Messages and commands will be spooled and re-sent if the
communications link between the Host and the dispensing system is
temporarily disrupted.
6 Communication Disable: The SECS/GEM link with the Host is disconnected.
Enable: The SECS/GEM link with the Host is established and communication
can take place.
