Exercise 7-2: Advanced Underfill Workpiece
NOTE In this exercise, you will learn how to program an entire underfill workpiece. First you
will program the L-shaped pattern and then you will program a U-shaped multipass
pattern. You will learn when to insert timer commands, height sense commands, flow rate
measurements, use skip marks, and reuse fiducials.
To program the L-shaped underfill pattern:
1. Perform 5.4 Programming Setup.
2. Choose
Two Fiducials and Learn Workpiece Angle first.
3. Load Side 2 of the Tutorial Board and define workpiece alignment, origin, and fiducials.
4. Select
Teach a Program from the Main Menu.
The Programming Window opens.
5. Select
File > New from the menu bar or click on the Program Wizard icon to create a
new file.
You will be prompted to teach your fiducials and workpiece origin.
For your fiducials, use the Model Finder method and program Fid 1 as the fiducial in
the lower left-hand corner (LLHC) and Fid 2 as the fiducial in the upper right-hand
corner (URHC) on Side 2 of the Tutorial Board.
6. Click the
Pattern button on the Program Commands toolbar.
7. Select
Create Pattern.
8. Type
Lfill in the text box.
9. Select
One fiducial.
10. Activate the
Use Pattern Skip Mark feature.
11. Click on
OK.
An Edit Window opens asking you to teach the pattern origin.
12. Use the position controls to center the camera crosshairs on the LLHC of the first flip chip
model in the top row of flip chip models.
Teach the origin exactly at the corner of the flip chip model. You do not use Chip
Offset until you are programming the lines.
13. Click on
Teach.
14. Click on
Done.
You are now asked to select a method for teaching the fiducial.
15. Select
Corner Finder.
16. Click on
Next.
