6-8 Beginning Programming
6.4.6 Process Commands
When you click on the Process button, a drop-down menu opens containing the available process
commands. When you select a process command, it is inserted into your dispensing program at the cursor
position. Process commands are described in Table 6-1.

Command Description
Find Substrate Height Determines workpiece height.
Purge Inserts a purge command into the program.
Nozzle Purge Inserts a “Nozzle Purge" instruction to the program.
Measure Flow Rate Inserts a “Measure Flow Rate” instruction into a program.
Check CPJ Flow Rate Inserts a “Check CPJ Flow Rate” instruction into the program.
Verify Dispense Weight Inserts a “Verify Dispense Weight” instruction into the program.
Verify Flux Weight Inserts a “Verify Flux Weight” command into a program.
Set Air Pressure Inserts a “Set Air Pressure” instruction into the program.
Create Procedure Opens dialog box for creating a new procedures.
Call Procedure Opens dialog box for inserting a procedure into a program.
Send Dispenser
Inserts a “Send to Dispenser” instruction into the currently loaded
program.
Begin Continuous
Inserts a “Begin Continuous” instruction into the program. Only Line
commands can be used between a “Begin Continuous” and “End
Continuous” instruction.
End Continuous
Inserts an “End Continuous” instruction into a program. Only Line
commands can be used between a “Begin Continuous” and “End
Continuous” instruction.
Read Scale
Inserts a “Read Scale” instruction into the program. The scale reading
will be entered in the log file.
Zero Scale
Inserts a “Zero Scale” instruction into the program. The scale reading
will be zeroed. The zeroing of the scale will be added as an event in
the log file.
Set Scale Inserts a “Set Scale” instruction into the program.
Change Outputs
Selecting this option opens a dialog box in which you can access all
outputs for the Dispenser and the Conveyor. You can select an output
and determine which state to change it to. The command is inserted
into the dispensing program at the selected location.
If Input
Inserts an If Input statement into the dispensing program. This allows
you to specify a particular action based on a particular input condition.
If System Variable
Inserts an If System Variable into the dispensing program. This allows
you to specify a particular action based on a particular system
condition.
Begin Gather
Used as a diagnostic tool, mostly by Nordson ASYMTEK Engineers.
Used in conjunction with End Gather.
End Gather
Used as a diagnostic tool, mostly by Nordson ASYMTEK Engineers.
Used in conjunction with Begin Gather.
Set Active Valve
If your dispensing system is equipped with a Dual Action Dispensing
Head, this feature defines which valve is affected by the process
commands.
