Table 5-2 Flow Rate Parameter Options
Command Description
Enable Flow Rate
Maintenance
A checkmark in the box indicates Flow Rate Maintenance is active.
On Timer
A Flow Rate Calibration will be performed according to the time value (in
seconds) entered in the On Timer text box. A flow rate calibration will also be
performed on the first board of every run. The timer is reset each time the Run
Production Window is opened.
On Run Count
A Flow Rate Calibration will be performed after completing the number of boards
entered in the On Run Count text box.
Reset flow Rate
timer when Run
Production Window
is exited
If On Timer is selected, the timer will be reset when the Run Production window
is exited.
Enable Multiple
Flow Rate
Calibrations
Allows the calculation of multiple Flow Rate Calibrations. When this feature is
activated, you can specify the number of Flow Rate Calibrations you wish to
perform by typing a number in the runs text box.
Control Flow Rate
with Valve Speed
If this is enabled, flowrate will be controlled by adjusting valve speed (for auger
controlled valves) or by air pressure (for jetting valves). Note that instead of
"Valve Speed" the text may read "Air Pressure".
Skip First Shot in
Flow Rate
Calibration
If enabled, will direct FmXP to automatically skip computation of measured flow
rate for the first shot of fluid dispensed. This option is useful if the weight of the
first shot tends to be significantly different from that of all the subsequent shots.
In such cases, skipping the first shot will produce a more accurate flow rate
calibration. The first shot is in addition to the programmed number of shots to be
averaged during calibration. For example, if there are five shots programmed, six
shots will be taken, but the first one will be ignored.
Purge During Flow
Rate Calibration
A check mark in this box will cause a purge operation to be performed prior to
the flow rate calibration.
NOTE This feature is only available if Variable Valve Speeds is
disabled.
Number of
Dispenses to
Average
Controls the number of dispenses performed during a single Flow Rate
Measurement procedure. The number entered should imitate your dispensing
application as closely as possible so that Flow Rate Maintenance can be
adjusted to dispense precisely how it should during the production run.
Dispense Duration
Controls the duration of a single dispense during a Flow Rate Measurement
procedure. The duration entered should imitate your dispensing application as
closely as possible so that Flow Rate Maintenance can be adjusted to dispense
precisely how it should during the production run.
Time between
Dispenses
Controls the amount of time FmXP waits between dispenses during a multi-
dispense Flow Rate Measurement. The duration entered should imitate your
dispensing application as closely as possible so that Flow Rate Maintenance can
be adjusted to dispense precisely how it should during the production run.
Dispensed Weight
Bias
Adjusts the amount (weight) of fluid to be dispensed during weight-controlled
instructions. If the weighed fluid is consistently over or under the desired
percentage of fluid after flow rate calibration, you can set the bias to compensate
for the hardware variation. Bias is necessary to ensure consistent fluid
dispensing.
