Table 5-1 Purge Parameter Options
Item Description
Vacuum Shutoff Delay:
Time (in milliseconds) set for the Purge Station vacuum to turn OFF after
the valve shuts off. For example, 500 msec means that the Purge Station
vacuum will shut off 500 msec after the valve stops purging. The extra
vacuum time removes any excess fluid from the end of the needle. If zero
is entered in the Vacuum Shutoff Delay, the Purge Station vacuum shuts off
simultaneously with the valve,
Vacuum Pre-Shutoff Time:
Time (in milliseconds) set for the Purge Station vacuum to turn OFF before
the valve shuts off. For example, 500 msec means that the Purge Station
vacuum will shut off 500 msec before the valve stops purging. Turning off
the Purge Station vacuum before the valve turns off can prevent removing
too much fluid from inside of the needle. If zero is entered in the Vacuum
Shutoff Delay, the Purge Station vacuum shuts off simultaneously with the
valve.
Enable Purge
Maintenance:
Allows for purging during production runs. If Purge Maintenance is not
activated, a purge will NOT be performed unless a purge instruction is
inserted into the program.
Purge - The valve will turn ON and purge fluid.
Active Air Purge – Active Air will turn ON with high-pressure airflow to clean
the jet valve air nozzle. Typical Active Air Purge air pressure is 60-90 psi.
Purge valve every:
On Timer
- The valve will purge according to the time value entered in the
On Timer text box. The time is in seconds. The purge timers are reset
whenever the operator re-enters the Run Production Window. If in
conveyorized mode, purge timers are reset whenever the operator clicks on
Go. If in non-conveyorized mode, purge timers remain on and enabled
while idle (no boards being run).
On Run Count
- The valve will purge after it has completed the number of
runs entered in the On Run Count text box.
Use Both
- On Timer and On Run Count work simultaneously. Purge
maintenance will start when the timer expires or after the specified number
of runs, whichever occurs first. The purge timer and purge run counter are
reset after the purge is finished.
Purge Duration:
Determines the number of seconds that the valve will turn ON during a
purge procedure. Be sure to consider fluid viscosity and throughput when
experimenting with purge duration.
Move to System Location
after Purge:
Designates a location for the dispensing head to move after the purge.
