System Configuration and Setup 4-119
4.5.2 Scripted Valve Offsets
Scripted Valve Offsets (SVO) allows you to customize the Valve Offsets routine to fit your particular
setup needs. You can use one of the standard scripts included with FmXP, or make one of your own (refer
to “Setup Scripts Options” in Online Help). SVO also allows you to stop at any point in the routine, and
finish it later during the same FmXP session without having to start from the beginning.
To perform a Scripted Valve Offsets routine:
NOTE Make sure the Vision System has been calibrated before performing this routine. Refer to
4.4.7 Vision System Setup.
1. Clear the work area of any obstacles that might interfere with dispensing head movement.
2. In the Main Window, select
Configuration > Machine Offsets > Scripted Valve Offsets.
The Machine Setup window (Figure 4-101) opens.
NOTE If Scripted Valve Offsets is grayed-out, refer to 4.3.9 Setup Scripts Options for
instructions on selecting the desired setup procedure.
3. Verify the
Valve 1 radio button is selected and click on Run to End.
If a message warns you that the dispensing head will move to the Home position, click
on
Yes.
The first of a series of Teach Windows opens.
4. Follow the on-screen prompts. Click on
Help if you have questions.
The Teach Window content and appearance may vary depending on your system
configuration.
When the setup task has been completed, a check mark appears next to the task.
NOTE Any tasks not applicable to your system configuration will be skipped.
5. If your dispensing has a Dual-Action Dispensing Head, repeat Steps 3 and 4 except click on
the
Valve 2 radio button.
You will start with Task #2 since you have already established a safe Z height.
6. When setup tasks are complete, click
End in the Setup Valve Offsets window.
NOTE If you end the routine prematurely, you will receive an error message similar to the one in
Figure 4-99. Click on
OK to exit the routine and save the tasks completed or click on
Cancel to continue.
