Feature Description
Style
Lets you identify or change the type of conveyor installed on your
dispensing system.
Click on the drop-down arrow next to the Style box to view the entire list of
conveyor types.
Conveyor Parameters
Belt Speed
-The speed of conveyor belt movement. The maximum
recommended speed is 15 in./sec (381 mm/sec). Above 15 in./sec, the
motors may slip.
Belt Accel: The acceleration rate at which the conveyor moves from the
stopped position to the designated Belt Speed. The maximum
recommended rate is 75 in./sec
2
(1905 mm/sec
2
). Above 75 in./sec
2
, the
motors may slip.
Long Move: The distance a board travels from its introduction into the
machine to the point where it encounters the first sensor. It is a safety
feature to keep the board from hitting the stop pin too hard and damaging
the board. The maximum distance is 32 inches (812.8 mm).
Short Move: Works in conjunction with Long Move. Long Move conveys
the board at the designated belt speed until it is detected by a part sensor
close to the stop pin. Short Move conveys the board from the sensor to the
stop pin. Short Move cannot be less than 0 inches.
Back Move: This move is intended to release friction between the stop pin
and the workpiece. After a part has been loaded into a station, the Back
Move reverses the conveyor belt for the specified distance to ensure that
there is no friction between the stop pin and the workpiece when it is lifted
into position for dispensing. This move is not necessary for most systems
and has a default setting of 0. Note: a positive value will move the part
forward and a negative value will move it backwards.
Retries: The number of attempts to load a workpiece into a station or
unload a workpiece from a station. A successful load is determined by the
station sensor detecting the part.
Automatic Conveyor
Width Parameters
(Available for Automove
Conveyors only)
Enable Automatic Conveyor Width
: If checked, the automatic conveyor
width feature is activated.
Confirm Move To Taught Width: If checked, the operator is prompted to
confirm conveyor width when any program containing automatic conveyor
width is loaded.
Set Global Default Tolerance: If checked, the system uses default settings
for all programs using the automatic conveyor width feature.
Clearance: This factor is added to the taught conveyor width during
calibration and allows for variations in board sizes. The default value is
0.025 inch (0.635 mm). The value can be greater than or equal to zero and
less than the taught width of the board.
Use Factory Default Clearance: If checked, default clearance of 0.025 inch
(0.635 mm) is sufficient clearance.
Calibrate Conveyor Width: Calibrates the conveyor. A window opens with
step-by-step calibration instructions. The conveyor must be calibrated
before teaching the automatic width. If the conveyor is not calibrated, the
automatic conveyor width feature cannot be enabled.
