Command Description
Scale Operations Tab:
Manual Entry
Enable this feature if your dispensing system is not equipped with an electronic
scale. You can perform a Measure Flow Rate routine by dispensing fluid into a
plastic cup, weighing the fluid on an independent scale, and manually entering
the value to calculate your flow rate.
Enable
Enables communication between the scale and the system computer, allowing
for automatic weight measurements. This is the recommended setting for all
systems equipped with an electronic scale.
Type
Use the down-arrow to select the type of scale (DI-100, DI-104, SART-WZ, or
SART-ME) installed on your system. Consult the manual for your particular
dispensing system if you are not sure which scale model is installed. If your
dispensing system is not equipped with a scale, select None.
Read Delay
Establishes a wait time between dispensing and reading the scale. This can be
done to ensure that the scale outputs a stable reading, or to delay the reading
until the information is needed. The default setting is 3 seconds.
Stability Timeout
This is similar to Read Delay. The scale waits for a designated number of
seconds before outputting the weight to insure a "stable" reading. The scale
identifies the measurement as "stable" or "unstable". If the Stability Timeout
elapses before a stable reading can be established, an error box appears. The
default value is 10 seconds. Typical ranges are from 3 to 15 seconds.
Current Reading Displays the weight of fluid currently in the Weigh Station cup.
Check for Missing
Cup
If checked, FmXP checks the Weigh Station to make sure a plastic cup is in the
scale chamber before dispensing fluid into the chamber. If a cup is not in the
scale chamber, a warning is issued and you must place a cup in the chamber
before proceeding.
Zero Scale
Click to zero the scale. This should be performed prior to taking an initial weight
measurement, and after replacing the cup in the scale chamber.
Reinitialization
Click to reestablish communication between the system computer and the scale.
The Reinitialization button should only be used to clear erroneous states when
using the scale.
Monitor Scale Cup
Overflow Weight
If this feature is activated, enter a value in the Max Capacity and the Warning
Start Percentage textboxes. When the scale cup weight reaches the Max
Capacity Value multiplied by the Warning Start percentage, a warning message
will appear. See 4.4.6.1 Monitor Scale Cup Overflow Weight (MSOW).
Max Capacity
Enter the maximum scale cup overflow weight. Used when Monitor Scale Cup
Overflow Weight is activated.
Warning Start
Percentage
The percentage of the maximum scale cup overflow weight (Max Capacity) that
must be reached before a warning message appears. Used when Monitor Scale
Cup Overflow Weight is activated.
Cumulative Weight The total weight since last scale reset.
Locations Displays the current scale location.
Advanced Tab:
Calibration Weight Use the drop-down menu to select a target calibration weight.
Calibrate
Click to calibrate the scale after placing a calibrated weight of equal value to the
target weight in the scale cup.
Environmental
Condition
The scale can be set up to compensate for varying environmental conditions
including building vibration, drafts, surface vibration, etc. The parameters are
Filter, Stability Speed, and Stability Sensitivity. The default setting is NORMAL.
Refer to the scale manual regarding recommended settings for other than ideal
weighing conditions. The Apply button immediately applies the environmental
settings.
