4.4 System Configuration
System configuration should be performed after initial installation, before beginning a programming
session, and after making any hardware changes.
NOTE The parameters selected at the system configuration level are global settings and affect all
programs. Some of these parameters can be overridden at the programming level by
including configuration commands within a program.

System configuration should be performed by trained service personnel only.
After installing your dispensing system, or after installing FmXP, it is necessary to identify certain
options included on the system platform. These setup options include, but are not limited to:
Fluid Manager Setup Workpiece Alignment
Valve Setup Conveyor Setup
Height Sensor Setup Scanner Setup
Setup Locations Heater Setup
Purge Station Setup Dispenser Setup
Scale Setup RFID
Vision System Setup Machine Setup
NOTE Generally, system configuration is performed at the Nordson ASYMTEK factory prior to
shipping, and you may never have to perform these procedures. Contact Nordson
ASYMTEK Technical Support for more information.
4.4.1 Fluid Manager Setup
The Fluid Manager allows you to set up a fluid file for each type of fluid used during production. The tab
settings vary depending on system configuration. The Fluid Manager window (Figure 4-52) may have the
following tabs:
Purge Parameters
Flow Rate Parameters
Dot Weight Parameters
Weight Verification
Pot Life/Low Fluid Check information
Attach Script File
Coax Burst Parameters (Flux Applications)
Flux Flowrate Pressure Control (Flux Applications)
