FmNT provides support for the SEMI E10 and E58 specifications, which describe six basic equipment
states that can be used to monitor the activity of a machine. FmNT now provides the ability to view,
change, and record these equipment states.
To record state changes in the FmNT log file, from the configuration menu on the main screen, select
Setup
Event Logging >Setup Logging Parameters. The E10 state selections are available when the
Configuration button is selected.

Substates
SEMI E58 defines substates as consisting of four alphanumeric characters. The first character must be a
digit 1 to 6, indicating one of the six basic states above. The second character must be a digit 0 to 9. The
last two characters can be any alpha A to Z (lower or upper case) or any digit 0 to 9. The alpha characters
are case sensitive.
By default, FmNT does not use substates other than the “default” codes listed above. However, the
customer can customize the initialization file and manually enter substates if desired.
