11. Using the Position Controls, move the needle tip very slowly into the entrance of the Needle
X Sensor slot until the green LED light on the sensor goes ON.
!If the light does not come on, lower the needle further into the slot. Then move the needle
tip around the corner in the Needle Sensor slot and slowly continue moving it until the
green light comes ON again.
!Follow the on-screen prompts for accurate calibration.
12. Click
Teach when done.
13. Use the Position Controls to move the Dispensing Head so that the needle tip is flush with the
top of the Scale Station.
!If your system has been previously configured, you may click on
GoTo in the Teach
Window and the Dispensing Head will automatically move to the Scale Station location.
14. Click
Teach when done.
15. Use the Position Controls to move the Dispensing Head so that the needle tip is flush with the
Purge Station boot.
!If your system has been previously configured, you may click on
GoTo in the Teach
Window and the Dispensing Head will automatically move to the Purge Station location.
16. Click
Teach.
" NOTE Steps 17-20 apply to systems equipped with the NS Series Needle Sensor. If
your system is equipped with the NSZ Series Needle sensor, skip to Step 21.
17. Using the Position Controls, align the Height Sensor Probe with the white dot on the
Needle Sensor.
18. Click
Teach.
19. Using the Position Controls, align the needle tip with the same white dot used in step 17.
20. Click
Teach.
!If you get an error message that reads: "Probe to Needle Y offset (XX.XXX) is larger than
width of slots" then adjust the probe so that it is closer to the needle.
21. Follow the on-screen prompts for locating the Tactile Sensor on the Needle Sensor.
!The Dispensing Head will move back the Needle Sensor slots and record the XYZ
measurements of the needle. The needle is moved in 1-mil increments.
!The green light goes on as the system locates the needle, as in the previous steps.
22. Place the Needle Sensor Substrate in the indented square on the top of the Needle Sensor.
You will be asked to choose a location for four dots. The system will then dispense on
those locations.
