Instruction Manual
Setup and Configuration 6-15
Initial Setup
Initial Setup consists of establishing machine offset parameters. Machine offset parameters include, but
are not limited to, the following:
• Determining a safe needle Z height
• Teaching the location of Service Stations (Purge and Weigh Stations)
• Calibrating needle-to-Height Sensor probe Z offset
• Calibrating needle-to-camera XY offset
• Calibrating Height Sensor probe-to-camera XY offset
Your system offset parameters are initially configured and setup by an Asymtek representative. However,
it may be necessary or desirable to repeat some of the offset routines to insure programming accuracy.
?NOTE Initial Setup is not equivalent to a complete system re-installation configuration
and setup procedure. If your system requires re-installation, please call Asymtek
for assistance.
FmNT offers four optional setup procedures for establishing machine offset parameters:
• Calculate Master Offsets (CMO)
• Valve Offsets (VO)
• Scripted Valve Offsets (SVO)
• Camera-Assisted Scripted Valve Offsets (CASVO)
All four procedures perform all of the necessary setup functions. Scripted Valve Offsets allows you to
customize the setup procedure according to your specific requirements. Camera-Assisted Scripted Valve
Offsets is designed as a safety feature to perform the Scripted Valve Offsets procedure without the
operator having to put any body parts into the dispensing area. Valve Offsets allows you to perform the
setup procedures one step at a time. Calculate Master Offsets walks through the entire process from start
to finish.
?NOTE These setup procedures are platform specific. One or more of these procedures
may or may not be available on your particular dispensing system. Contact
Asymtek for more information.
?NOTE If your dispensing system is equipped with a Dual-Action Dispensing Head, you
will be prompted to perform each step of the setup procedure twice, once for
each valve.
?NOTE Before performing an Initial Setup procedure, you must first make sure that the
Vision System has been setup. Follow the procedure below.
