Figure 4-6 shows the Output tab which is used to define the type of output the controller uses for the
heating process and specific parameters for the output type. All settings in this dialog box are set for each
loop in your system at the Asymtek factory prior to shipping.
The
Type of output used most often for the dispensing system heaters is Time Proportioning (TP). In this
Type, the percent output is converted to a percent duty cycle on the programmed cycle time. The
Action
sets the control action of the loop. Normally, heat outputs are set to Reverse and cool outputs are set to
Direct.
Heat Output Limit can be used with IR heaters to limit the temperature ramp. This is done to prevent
damaging heated components on the workpiece by ramping the temperature too fast.
Lastly, select the
Alarm tab.
