Setup and Configuration 6-29
To perform a Valve Offsets procedure (automatic version):
1. In the Main Window, click on Configuration.
2. Select Configuration Files

Configuration Files from the Configuration menu.
> The Edit Configuration Files dialog box opens.
3. On the
FmConfig.ini tab, select Misc Parms

Misc Parms from the Configuration Groups list.
4. Select Use Auto VO

Use Auto VO from the Misc Parms list.
5. Type ON in the text box below the two lists.
> If ON already appears in the text box, Auto VO is already active.
6. Click on OK.
7. In the Main Window, click on Configuration.
8. Select Needle Setup

Needle Setup from the Configuration menu.
9. Select Valve Offsets

Valve Offsets from the Needle Setup menu.
> The Machine Setup dialog box opens.
10. Click on Run to End.
> A message box opens indicating that “This script file performs camera
assisted valve offsets.”
11. Click on OK.
> A Teach Window opens asking you to teach a Safe Z height.
> Safe Z height places the dispensing head at a height that ensures that it will
not collide with any obstacles while moving around the dispensing area.
> Toggle Probe raises and lowers the Height Sensor probe so you can make sure that
the probe is at a Safe Z height.
> The Value

Value text box indicates a previously established Safe Z height, if one has
been previously established. Clicking on Go To will put the dispensing head at
that height.
12. Use the Position Controls to raise or lower the dispensing head until a Safe Z height
is achieved.
13. Click on Teach.
14. Click on Done.
> A new Teach Window opens asking you to align the needle to a mark on the
sample substrate on top of the Needle Sensor.
> If there is no mark on the sample substrate, use a pen or pencil to make one
anywhere on the sample substrate. An “X” works best.
15. Use the Position Controls to align the needle tip to the center of the mark on the
sample substrate.
16. Click on Teach.
17. Use the Position Controls to align the camera crosshairs to the center of the same
mark.
