Valve Offsets
This screen-prompted routine identifies and records a Safe-Z Height for dispensing head
travel, the XYZ locations of the Purge Station, Weigh Station and Needle. It also calibrates
the camera-to-needle and needle-to-probe offsets.
This routine is performed when the dispensing system is initially installed and configured.
Those values and settings are recorded. You can run this routine again at any time to insure
dispensing accuracy or reflect hardware or changes. You can choose to use the pre-recorded
values during the routine.
There are two versions of the Valve Offsets procedure, the original version and an automatic
version. Both versions perform the same functions. The automatic version is designed as a
safety feature to perform the Valve Offsets procedure without the operator having to
physically put any part of the body into the dispensing area. The two versions are treated
separately below.
Definitely perform a Valve Offsets if any of the following events occur:
· initial system setup (re-installation of dispensing system)
· re-initialization or re-installation of system software
· software update
· valve change (not syringe)
· camera change or location adjustment
· service station (Purge, Weigh Stations) change or location adjustment
· Needle Sensor change or location adjustment
· Height Sensor change or location adjustment
· Changing from Calculate Master Offsets
?NOTE Calculate Master Offsets and Valve Offsets both perform all of the
necessary setup functions. The main difference between the two procedures
is that Valve Offsets allows you to perform the entire process one step at a
time. Calculate Master Offsets walks through the entire process from start to
finish.
?NOTE If your dispensing system is equipped with a Dual-Action dispensing head,
use Valve Offsets as your Initial Setup routine. Calculate Master Offsets can
not be used as a setup procedure on systems equipped with Dual-Action
dispensing heads.
