5 Troubleshooting

Overview
This section contains troubleshooting procedures. These procedures cover most of the problems that may
be encountered. If you cannot solve the problem with the information given here, consult your local
Nordson/Asymtek representative for help.

Problem Possible Cause Corrective Action
1. Fan Width Enclosure does
not come on.
Electrical power is not getting to
the unit.
1. Check 16-pin circular
connector in the back of unit.
2. Check 24 VDC power from
Robot Controller.
A. Light beam or fluid color
changed.
A. Recalibrate the sensitivity of
the amplifier (see “Initialization
and Calibration” in Operation
section of this manual).
2. Fan Pattern not recognized
by the FWC.
B. Sensors are blocked.
B. Clean or replace sensors or
lens (see Maintenance section
of this manual).
A. Reservoir is full. A. Empty reservoir more often.
3. Drain Pan is overflowing.
B. Tubing is blocked. B. Clean or replace tubing.
A. Dispenser nozzle is slightly
plugged and spraying
directly onto Sensor Lens.
A. Brush or clean the nozzle.
4. Conformal Coating is
spraying onto Sensor Lens
and/or Cover.
B. Baffle is not installed. B. Install Baffle.
5. The procedures will not
function properly.
The software is not configured
properly.

A. No power to the Fan Width
Enclosure.
A. See Problem #1.
B. The Pressure Controller is
in Manual mode.
B. Switch to auto mode (F2 key)
C. No air pressure to the Fan
Width Enclosure.
C. Check air lines and pressure to
the unit.
6. The FWC does not adjust
the Fan Width.
D. The software is not
configured properly.
