Greasing the Lead Screw
You should grease the DP-3000 lead screw quarterly to reduce friction and wear on the pump.
See Figure 4-4.
Tools Needed:
Small flashlight
10-cc syringe of synthetic PTFE fortified grease (included with the DP-3000 kit and available
through Asymtek)
To grease the Lead Screw:
1. Turn the upper knob to drive the piston to its lowest position.
! You can also lower the piston using the Fluidmove software. Follow the steps below.
a. From the Main Window, click Tools.
b. Click I/O Test.
c. Click Dispenser.
! The I/O Test dialog box will open.
d. Toggle Valve Forward to ON.
e. When the piston has reached its lowest position, toggle Valve Forward to OFF.
f. Click OK to exit the dialog box.
2. Place the tip of the syringe of grease through the slot in the chamber fluid level indicator.
3. Squeeze a couple of drops of grease onto the chamfer of the lead screw.
4. Turn the upper knob to move the piston to the highest position to allow the grease to spread.
! You can also move the piston using the Fluidmove software. Follow the steps below.
a. From the Main Window, click Tools.
b. Click I/O Test.
c. Click Dispenser.
! The I/O Test dialog box will open.
d. Click Valve Reverse to ON.
e. When the piston has reached its lowest position, toggle Valve Reverse to OFF.
f. Click OK to exit the dialog box.
