18. Remove the prime port from the side of the priming chamber.
! If your priming chamber is equipped with the plastic prime port, discard the prime port and
replace it with a new one.
! If your priming chamber is equipped with the metal Luer prime port, you may clean and
reuse it.
19. Using the cleaning step brush and solvent, clean the pumping chamber, the priming chamber,
the metal Luer prime port (if present), the pumping chamber seal, and the O-rings.
! Replace the O-rings as recommended in Table 4-1.
! Replace the seal according to the guidelines in the CAUTION! below.
CAUTION! Do NOT use acetone or isopropyl alcohol (IPA) to clean the seals or O-ring.
DO NOT soak the O-rings in solvent when cleaning the pump. Some solvents may
cause the O-rings to swell so that the pumping chamber does not fit correctly onto
the pump. When using the DP-3000 with encapsulants and underfill materials, you
MUST change the seal at least once a week. These materials may cause the seals
to leak, allowing fluid into the feed screw, upper body and piston.
20. Place the pumping and priming chambers into an ultrasonic cleaner.
21. Inspect the interior of the pumping and priming chambers to make sure that all residual material
has been removed.
22. When you are satisfied that all of the parts are clean, refer to “Using the DP-3000” in the
Operation section for information on reassembling and reinstalling the DP-3000.
