Automatic Refill
This feature can greatly increase throughput by inserting a Refill command directly into the dispensing
program. The DP-3000 will automatically refill at the point in the program where the Refill command
appears.
To insert a Refill command into the dispensing program:
1. Calculate the number of shots before you will need to refill by determining when the chamber
will be running out of fluid. This calculation will allow you to determine where to place the
Refill command within the dispensing program. Use the following formula.
! You will need to convert the chamber size from cm
3
to mm
3
. It may be helpful to note that
the approximate, calculated volume for a 1 cc chamber is 1.107 cc, and 2.492 cc for a
2 cc chamber.
! The following formula assumes that all dot sizes in your dispensing pattern are
identical. If your pattern requires a variety of dot sizes, you will need to adjust the
shot size variable.
Step 1: Chamber Size (mm
3
) X Specific Gravity of the fluid (mg/mm
3
)
Shot Size (mg)
= Number of Shots (in a Full Chamber)
Step 2: Number of Shots (In Full Chamber) – 1 Shot = Number of Shots Before
Refill Command
2. Count this number of shots within your program, then place the cursor where the Refill
command should appear.
! Remember that the command will be inserted on the line above the cursor.
! Also, if your dispensing system is equipped with a Dual-Action Dispensing Head, the
Refill command should appear before the Set Active Valve command for each pump.
3. Select Program from the menu bar.
4. Select Process Commands from the primary drop-down menu.
5. Select Refill Valve from the secondary drop-down menu.
! The Refill command will be inserted above the cursor in the program.
