2 Introduction
DispenseJet Components
The major components (Figure 1-1) are briefly described in this section.
1. Black Pneumatic Hose
The Black Pneumatic Hose connects to the Valve Connection on the Dispensing System Bulkhead.
2. Height Sensor (optional)
The Height Sensor is an option for measuring and recording substrate height.
3. Solenoid Valve
This Solenoid Valve compresses and expands a spring, which controls the needle that ejects the fluid
through the dispensing nozzle onto the substrate.
4. RTD Cable
The RTD Cable connects to the bulkhead and provides feedback to the Heater Control Circuit.
5. Heater Cable
The Heater Cable connects to the bulkhead and controls voltage to the heater.
6. Heater
The Heater stabilizes fluid viscosity and improves fluid flow characteristics. The Heater warms the fluid
to the desired dispensing temperature.
7. Seat Extension
The Seat Extension is located between the heater and the lower body and transfers heat from the
heater using thermally conductive grease that warms the fluid path. It has a threaded shaft for the
dispensing nozzle.
8. Nozzle
The Nozzle consists of a threaded nut with a cone-shaped dispensing nozzle and is available in several
sizes. A special torque wrench is used for nozzle removal and installation.
9. Lower Body
The Lower Body serves as a structural support for the Seat Extension and as a path for the needle. It
has a purge screw, a set of O-rings, and a U-cup seal
10. Purge Screw
Loosen the purge screw to perform a manual purge. This method is recommended when a new syringe
is installed in order to fill the fluid chamber prior to actuating the valve.
11. Luer Lock
The Fluid Inlet consists of a Luer Lock that connects to the fluid line on the syringe. The fluid is fed to
the DispenseJet fluid chamber.
12. Upper Body
The Upper Body holds the air piston in place with a spring retainer, seal locking nut, O-ring, and a U-cup
seal to allow the needle to travel. It also has a plug for the left or right fitting installation.
13. Syringe Bracket
The Syringe Bracket holds the fluid syringe.
