42 Troubleshooting
Table 6-1 Troubleshooting (continued)
Fluid not escaping through the
nozzle
Micro-Adjustment or Preload Screw
too tight
Adjust the micro-adjustment to the
proper setting.
Valve Pressure too low Adjust valve pressure to 75-80 psi.
Fluid Air Pressure or Main Air Pressure
not connected
Check fluid air and main air pneumatics;
tighten connections if necessary.
Cutout window in Extension not aligned
with fluid port in the lower body
Verify that dowel pinhole is facing toward
the back part of the DispenseJet.
Perform the disassembly and cleaning
procedure in the Maintenance and
Service section.
Air leaking through weep hole Damaged upper body seal
Replace the upper body seal. Refer to
the procedure for disassembly and
cleaning of the DispenseJet in the
Maintenance and Service section.
Fluid leaking through hole in
extension while not dispensing
Extension seat may be broken
Remove the DispenseJet from the
dispensing system. Remove the nozzle
and check the bottom of the extension. If
broken, replace the needle and
extension. See the Maintenance and
Service section.
Air Piston Seal may be set too low and is
hitting the bottom of the Piston bore
Adjust the air piston seal. Refer to the
procedure for adjusting the Air piston in
the Maintenance and Service section.
Fluid leaking through weep
hole on sides of upper body
No lower seal or damaged seal
Install a new seal. See “Inspecting and
Cleaning” in the Maintenance and
Service section.
Worn needle
Inspect the needle for wear and replace
if necessary. Excessive wear will appear
as a polished, indented band around the
middle of the needle, where it meets the
U-cup seal. See “Inspecting and
Cleaning” in the Maintenance and
Service section.
DispenseJet does not cycle
No signal to the solenoid valve
Check that the solenoid cable is securely
fastened to the CPC connector.
Insufficient or no air pressure to the
solenoid valve
Check fluid air, valve air, and main air
pneumatics; tighten connections if
necessary. If air is flowing, set the air
pressure to 70–90 psi.
Not dispensing properly Jet may need to be cleaned
See “Complete Cleaning” in the
Maintenance and Service section.
