4-22 Operation
Conveyor Features
Following are short descriptions of the conveyor’s key features (See Figure 4-7 and Figure
4-8).
Adjustable Board Clamps
Used with Bar Clamps to hold the board in place while dispensing. During initial process
setup, these clamps can be slid along the Conveyor rail to position them over the board.
Bar Clamps
When the part stops in the dispense zone, a Bar Clamp on each conveyor rail rises to
immobilize the part for dispensing.
Conveyor Belts
The Conveyor Belts transport the part from the upstream machine, through the dispensing
system, and to the downstream machine.
Dispense Zone
The Dispense Zone is the area within the machine where fluid is dispensed onto the part.
Part Sensors
The Part Sensors detect the part, causing the stop pins to raise and stop the part. One part
sensor is located in the dispense zone, and depending on your configuration, there is one in
the pre-dispense zone.
Pre-dispense Zone
The Pre-dispense Zone is where the part is held before entering the Dispense Zone. The
purpose of the Pre-dispense Zone is to reduce the transfer time to the Dispense Zone.
Stop Pins
The Stop Pins rise (or drop, depending on system configuration) to stop the part in the Pre-
dispense and Dispense Zones.
