Integrated Safety Systems
Your Century Series system offers the safety features described below.
Safety Interlock System
INTERLOCK is a key-activated safety device located on the Control Panel (see Figure 2-1,
Table 4-5: Dispensing Status Control Functions and Table 4-6: Panel / Beacon Colors,
Dispensing Status and Recovery Procedures). It is designed to restrict access to the inside
of the dispensing system, based on user classification. The Safety Interlock has two
modes—ON or OFF. Once an Interlock safety mode is selected, the key can be removed to
prevent an inadvertent mode change. The Safety Interlock is designed to work with either
of the door sensors or with the light curtain.
?
NOTE
References that describe the front doors as “open” also pertain to
situations where the light curtain has been triggered by an
intruding object.
CAUTION!
Do NOT use INTERLOCK’s OFF mode during normal operation. Use
OFF mode only when servicing or programming the dispensing
system.
When INTERLOCK is ON (I) and a dispensing program is running, opening the front doors
stops all dispensing motion and all position references are lost. This interlock shutdown
condition is indicated by a red LED on the Control Panel and by a red light on the Light
Beacon.
To recover from a shutdown triggered by the interlock:
1. Close the doors or remove obstruction from Light Curtain (if installed).
2. On the Control Panel:
a. Press
DISPENSER STATUS RESET.
Wait three seconds.
b. Press
FIND HOME.
3. In Fluidmove, click on the
GO button.
When
INTERLOCK is OFF (O), it is in BYPASS mode. Both the yellow Light Beacon light
and yellow
DISPENSER STATUS LED are ON when INTERLOCK is OFF.
