Introduction 2-7
Height Sensor (option)
The Height Sensor is installed on the dispensing head next to the fluid pump and is
controlled by Fluidmove. It checks and gauges the substrate height.
Interior Light
The interior light provides a lighted work area inside the system.
Levelers
The Levelers are adjusted during installation and should not need attention unless the
system is moved to a new location. To protect the dispensing system from moving during
an earthquake, the levelers can be anchored to the floor with screws (see section 3: Safety
for more information).
Light Curtain (option)
The Light Curtain (not shown) replaces standard Interlock Doors and works with the
Safety Interlock System. During operation, if the Curtain detects an object entering the
dispensing area, system mechanics stop and the dispensing program is aborted.
Light Beacon
The Light Beacon is a warning device for the operator. The Beacon signals a dispensing
status condition by displaying a colored light and/or issuing an audible tone (see Table 4-6,
Panel / Beacon Colors, Dispensing Status and Recovery Procedures).
Power ON and OFF
The Start and Stop buttons are located on the Control Panel and control the power to the
dispensing system. They are momentary press down buttons. The Start button glows green
when pushed and remains so until the Stop button or EMO is pressed. When the Stop
button is pressed, dispensing activity shuts down. The computer and monitor have their
own power switches and are not affected by the Control Panel’s Start and Stop buttons.
Purge Station
The Purge Station is a small reservoir that contains a disposable plastic cup. A generator
produces a vacuum inside the reservoir. The dispensing nozzle or needle is inserted into the
purge boot on the purge station lid, where the vacuum removes residual fluid and cleans
the nozzle or needle tip.
Safety Interlock System
The Safety Interlock System (not shown) works with the front door sensors or light curtain,
and the Light Beacon. Using the Safety Interlock key switch, you can place the system in
different access modes for servicing, programming, and production. Each mode allows or
limits access to the dispensing area.
Syringe
The syringe contains the fluid to be dispensed and comes in a variety of sizes, all
accommodated by the fluid pump. The fluid manufacturer packages the fluid in the syringe
according to the requirements of your application. The fluid is shipped with a Material
Safety and Data Sheet (MSDS), which provides handling and safety instructions.
Valve Pressure Gauge and Regulator
The Valve Pressure Gauge indicates the air pressure supplied to the fluid pump. The Valve
Pressure Regulator is located underneath the front hood of the system. See the appropriate
fluid pump manual for the recommended setting for your pump. The maximum
recommended setting is 6.3 kg/cm
2
(90 psi).
Temperature Controller
The DJ-2200 uses the HT-1200-RTD Temperature Controller. It is a precise temperature
controller used to adjust Needle Heater temperatures from ambient to 65 °C (149 °F).
