Digital Scale
The C-720 can be equipped with an integral Digital Scale for accurate weight-sampling of
dispensing fluids used for data collection in support of fluid dispensing quality analysis.
The Digital Scale consists of the Digital Scale instrument and the Weigh Station (see
Figure 16-4 and Figure 16-5). The Weigh Station consists of a cup recess for the
disposable cup located in the dispensing area up. The Digital Scale display, located in the
lower cabinet is connected to the PC provides the readout display. The Digital Scale is
factory-calibrated and includes a weighing zero-out feature of the disposable cup. The
Digital Scale communicates directly with FMW software. Initial setup and calibration is
performed at the Asymtek factory.
Operations Control
The applications engineer and programmer determine the parameters and the production
run setup in FMW.
Operator-performed procedures for the operational aspects of the Digital Scale are as
follows:
1. Prior to each production run or shift startup, ensure the following Weigh Station
procedures are performed:
?
NOTE
After initial system startup, an average of approximately
60 minutes of warm-up time is required for the Scale to reach
proper operating temperature for correct weight readouts.
a. Lift up the Weight Station Lid, remove and properly dispose of the old Dixie
cup with banjo wipe as applicable.
b. Place a new clean Dixie cup and banjo wipe in the Weight Station and place
the lid over the Weight Station.
2. Observe the production run, and report any uncharacteristic developments that may
affect proper scale operations. Refer to troubleshooting for some of the more
common difficulties.
