Instruction Manual

Introduction 2-5
Front View Features
Below are short descriptions of the various parts and modules of the system (shown in
Figure 2-1, Figure 2-2, and Figure 2-3) and their functions. Detailed operation instructions
for some features are covered in other sections.
Computer System (computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse)
The Computer System is used to create and run dispensing programs with the Asymtek
dispensing software Fluidmove
®
for Windows (FMW). The programs are stored on the hard
drive.
Control Panel
The Control Panel surface is an ergonomic membrane. It controls some programming and
run functions and is divided into three functional areas: Download Program Control, Motion
Control, and Safety Interlock Control. You can move the dispensing head, enable the Safety
Interlock System, make an emergency stop, check dispensing status, and adjust valve
controls using this panel.
Dispensing Head
The Dispensing Head moves in the XYZ planes. It is controlled by the dispensing system
software and the Control Panel. The fluid pump, vision system, height sensor, and needle
heater are connected to the Dispensing Head.
Dual-Action Fluid Plumbing
The C-720 Model has factory installed dual-action dispensing plumbing to accommodate a
variety of dispensing options. A bracket allows the C-720 to be configured as a single-action
dispensing head or a dual-action dispensing head.
Dual-Action Dispensing Head (Option)
An optional Dual-Action Dispensing Head makes it possible to dispense a second fluid
during a single dispensing cycle. It is controlled in the same manner as the single
Dispensing Head.
EMO
In emergencies, this large, red button shuts down power to the Control Panel and the
dispensing mechanics. It does NOT shut down power to the computer and monitor.
Fluid Pressure Gauge and Regulator
The Fluid Pressure Gauge indicates the air pressure supplied to the syringe. Systems
equipped with a Dual-Action Dispensing Head have an additional fluid pressure gauge for
the second pump. The Fluid Pressure Regulator is located underneath the front hood of the
system. See the appropriate fluid pump manual for the recommended setting for your pump.
The maximum recommended setting is 2.1 kg/cm
2
(30 psi).
