Instruction Manual
Height Sensor 10-5
Software Setup
During the software setup process, you can assign values to control various Height Sensor
parameters.
In FMW and FmNT, you can control:
• Up and Down Speed and Acceleration of the dispensing head during a height sense
• Maximum Search Depth that the dispensing head will descend in search of the
substrate
• Retract Distance after a height sense
FMW and FmNT have different procedures for setting up the Height Sensor.
TIP
Make sure that your Height Sensor is properly set up prior to
programming.
To set up the Height Sensor in FMW and FmNT:
1. In the Main Window, click on Configuration.
2. Select Setup Height Sensor from the drop down menu.
The Setup Height Sensor dialog box opens, showing the various configurable
parameters.
3. Select a Mode.
" If your dispensing system is equipped with a Height Sensor, you will have two
options available, Height sense always and Height sense on command. See On-Line Help for
explanations of each mode.
" If your dispensing system is not equipped with a Height Sensor, you must use FMW
Tools to tell your dispensing system that no Height Sensor is present. Once your
system has been configured for No Height Sensor, you will have several options
available. See On-Line Help for explanations of each mode.
TIP
Up Speed, Down Speed, Acceleration, Maximum Search Depth and
Retract Distance values are all set at the Asymtek factory prior to
shipping, and should not need to be changed. However, if you
experience problems with your Height Sensor performance, use
these parameters to try correcting the problem. See On-Line Help
for explanations of each mode.
4. Click on OK.
?
NOTE
After installing or adjusting the Height Sensor, you must run a Valve
Offsets or Calculate Master Offsets routine. This should be done every time
you change the needle.
