2-8 Introduction
Power ON and OFF
The Start and Stop buttons are located on the Control Panel and control the power to the
dispensing system. Both buttons connect to the Main Power Circuit Breaker at the rear of
the system. They are momentary press down buttons. The Start button glows green when
pushed, remaining lit until the Stop button or EMO is pressed. When the Stop button is
pressed, dispensing activity shuts down.
?
NOTE
The computer and monitor have their own power switches and are not
affected by the Control Panel’s Start and Stop buttons.
Purge Station
The Purge Station is a small reservoir that contains a disposable plastic cup. A generator
produces a vacuum inside the reservoir. The dispensing nozzle or needle is inserted into the
purge boot on the purge station lid, where the vacuum removes residual fluid and cleans the
nozzle or needle tip.
Safety Interlock System
The Safety Interlock System (not shown) works with the front door sensors or light curtain,
and the Light Beacon. Using the Safety Interlock key switch, you can place the system in
different access modes for servicing, programming, and production. Each mode allows or
limits access to the dispensing area.
Syringe
The syringe contains the fluid to be dispensed and comes in a variety of sizes, all
accommodated by the fluid pump. The fluid manufacturer packages the fluid in the syringe
according to the requirements of your application. The fluid is shipped with a Material
Safety and Data Sheet (MSDS), which provides handling and safety instructions.
Valve Pressure Gauge and Regulator
The Valve Pressure Gauge indicates the air pressure supplied to the fluid pump. Systems
with a Dual-Action Dispensing Head have a second valve pressure gauge for the second
fluid pump. The Valve Pressure Regulator is located underneath the front hood of the
system. See the appropriate fluid pump manual for the recommended setting for your pump.
The maximum recommended setting is 6.3 kg/cm
2
(90 psi).
Temperature Controller (option)
The DJ-2000 uses the HT-1200-RTD Temperature Controller. It is a precise temperature
controller used to adjust Needle Heater temperatures from ambient to 65 °C (149 °F). Other
fluid pumps may use the HT-1000 or the HT-2000, both of which control temperatures from
ambient to 100 °C (212 °F).
Under Board Support Switch
This switch lets you set the Under Board Support table to OFF or AUTO.
Vision System (option)
The Vision System allows you to visually align fiducials as you program for dispensing. The
C-718SMT can use the AV-700 Targeting Offset Camera, a basic vision system, or the AV-
2550 Pattern Recognition System, an advanced vision system that can be configured for
edge detection or fiducial identification.
