Introduction 2-7
Front Doors
The front doors (shown but not called out) have an electrostatic, dissipative surface that
does not hold an electrostatic charge. Door sensors connect the front doors to the Safety
Interlock system.
Grounding Strap Connector
The operator’s grounding strap plugs into this connection to prevent Electrostatic Discharge
(ESD).
Height Sensor (option)
The Height Sensor is installed on the dispensing head next to the fluid pump and is
controlled by Fluidmove. It checks and gauges the substrate height.
Interior Light
The interior light provides a lighted work area inside the system.
Levelers
The Levelers are adjusted during installation and should not need attention unless the
system is moved to a new location. To protect the dispensing system from moving during an
earthquake, the levelers can be anchored to the floor with screws (see section 3: Safety for
more information).
Under Board Support (option)
The Under Board Support (Figure 2-2) is a lift table with movable supports and vacuum
pins. The Under Board Support can accommodate a wide variation in board sizes, from
432mm x 406mm to 38mm x 38mm (17 x 16 in to 1.5 x 1.5 in) and board thicknesses from
0.76mm to 6.35mm (0.03 to 0.25 in). The table prevents a board from sagging or bouncing
during the dispensing process by supporting it at strategic locations.
Under Board Support Switch (if needed)
If the Under Board Support is installed, the Under Board Support Switch is a toggle located
on the front of the Needle Sensor mount (Figure 2-2). In AUTO, the support table rises
automatically when the clamp bars move up; OFF disables the Under Board Support lift
table.
Light Curtain (option)
The Light Curtain (not shown) replaces standard Interlock Doors and works with the Safety
Interlock System. During operation, if the Curtain detects an object entering the dispensing
area, system mechanics stop and the dispensing program is aborted.
Light Beacon (option)
The Light Beacon is a warning device for the operator. The Beacon signals a dispensing
status condition by displaying a colored light and/or issuing an audible tone (see Table 4-6,
Panel / Beacon Colors, Dispensing Status and Recovery Procedures).
Needle Heater (option)
The Needle Heater is a heating element that attaches to the needle and heats the fluid in the
needle to maintain consistent fluid flow. The Needle Heater is an option on the DV-6000
and DP-3000.
Needle Sensor
The Needle Sensor records the needle XYZ position. This information is sent to the
dispensing system software.
