Operation
Theory of Operation
Depending on the type of heating element used, the heating element attaches to the needle
or to the Luer Lock fitting. Needle heater temperature is set with the temperature
controller.
A thermocouple cable connects the heating element to the temperature controller, telling
the controller the heating element’s temperature. The temperature controller adjusts voltage
to the heating element to achieve the desired temperature. Heat transfers to the dispensing
needle, which heats the Fluid inside the needle.
? NOTE For many epoxies and adhesives, a higher fluid temperature can
decrease “stringing” during dispensing, thus increasing dispensing
accuracy.
