User Manual
Needle Sensor 11-3
Setup
Your system’s Needle Sensor is installed at the factory, and Fluidmove is configured to
work with the specific Sensor. If you make significant changes to your system
configuration, upgrade your Fluidmove software, or if you are having trouble with the
Valve Offsets or Calculate Master Offsets routines, you will need to perform the setup
procedures below.
Setup in FmNT
Fluidmove has two routines for Needle Sensor operation--Valve Offsets and Calculate
Master Offsets. A sub-routine within Calculate Master Offsets lets the user “Find Needle
XYZ.”
Valve Offsets
Valve Offsets takes you through a series of on-screen prompted functions for defining the
XYZ locations of the Purge and Weigh (Scale) Stations, calculating the needle-to-height
sensor Z offset, the needle-to-camera XY offset, and the camera-to-height sensor XY
offset. This routine is typically performed after initial startup if significant changes to the
system are made or if the dispensing system or software is upgraded or reinitialized. See
Fluidmove® for Windows NT Installation & User Guide for information on setting valve
offsets, or see Fluidmove’s On-line Help for more guidance.
Calculate Master Offsets
Calculate Master Offsets is a user-prompted routine that records the location of the Purge
Station, the Weigh Station and XYZ location of the needle using the Needle Sensor and
Height Sensor probe. See Fluidmove® for Windows NT Installation & User Guide for
information on calculating master offsets, or see Fluidmove’s On-line Help for more
guidance.

NOTE
You should perform a Calculate Master Offsets routine before
beginning a production run. If you change the needle during a
production run, you only need to perform the shorter Find Needle
XYZ procedure to continue dispensing.
