Height Sensor 10-9
To make large-scale adjustments to the probe tip height and position:
CAUTION!
Only a trained service technician should perform this procedure.
1. Raise the dispensing head so that neither the needle tip nor the probe tip is touching the
work surface.
2. Make sure the probe is in the gear down (GD) position.
3. Using the 1/16-inch hex key, loosen the probe set screw accessed through the hole on the
right side of the Height Sensor (see Figure 10-1).
4. Adjust the probe height by sliding the probe up or down (see Figure 10-4).
5. The recommended setting for the probe tip height is between 1.78 – 2.54 mm (0.07 –
0.10 in) below the needle tip. However, it may be adequate for your dispensing
application to visually align the probe so that the probe tip elbow is flush with the needle
tip. Consult Asymtek Technical Support for further assistance.
6. Move the probe to the new distance from the needle.
> The recommended setting for the probe tip is about 1 mm (0.04 in) away from the
needle tip (see Figure 10-4).
7. Tighten the probe set screw and adjust the XY position of the probe.
?
NOTE
After installing or making adjustments to the Height Sensor, you
must run a Valve Offsets or Calculate Master Offsets routine. This should be
done every time you change the needle.
