Height Sensor 10-11
To adjust the distance between the probe and the needle:
Only a trained service technician should perform this procedure.
1.
Raise the dispensing head so that neither the needle tip nor the probe tip are
touching the work surface.
2.
Install the needle you will use.
3.
Using the 1/16 inch hex key, loosen the probe set screw accessed through the
hole on the right side of the Height Sensor (see Figure 10-1).
4.
Move the probe to the new distance from the needle.
The recommended setting for the probe tip is about 1.00 mm (0.04 in) away
from the needle tip (see Figure 10-3).
5.
Tighten the probe set screw and adjust the probe position.
6.
Run a Height Sensor Setup procedure (see “Setup” on page 10-4).
To adjust the GU stroke length:
Only a trained service technician should perform this procedure.
Normally, the gear up (GU) stroke length should not need adjustment.
The default GU setting is 0.79 mm (0.03 in). A lesser setting may
interfere with large dot (>1.3 mm [0.05 in]) dispensing, while a greater
setting may interfere with the needle.
1.
Raise the dispensing head so that neither the needle tip nor the probe tip are
touching the work surface.
2.
Using the 1/16 inch hex key, loosen the GU adjust locking screw (see Figure
10-4) by turning it only two revolutions to the left, approximately 0.79 mm (0.03
in).
