13 Special Options
Asymtek offers a wide range of special options for fine-tuning your dispensing applications.
This section introduces you to the options that are currently available for Century Series
systems.
Expanded Opto-I/O
The Expanded Opto-I/O option for your Century Series system provides a special cable to
access 24 I/Os. The Century Series systems use 8-bit I/Os for normal operation of all system
components. However, if you plan to add accessories or external devices or sensors, you can
use this option.
The Expanded I/O has a 3-row, 78-pin female connector on the rear of the Century Series
system, located beneath the connector shroud (see Figure 13-1). It connects to an I/O cable
terminating in three 36-pin connectors (Ports A, B and C).
