9-4 Maintenance
Record Keeping
The type of maintenance performed (such as preventive and parts replacement) should be recorded in
maintenance records for the dispensing system. Dates, part numbers/serial numbers of replaced parts,
names of technicians, and other pertinent data should be recorded. This information can be used to
coordinate PM activities with scheduled downtime.
Replacing Consumables
The following items are common consumables and should be replaced as recommended in Table 9-1:
• Purge Boots • Weigh Station Cup
• Purge Cup • Banjo Wiper
Tools and Materials Needed
• Needle-nosed Pliers • Replacement Purge Boot (see Table 9-2)
• Isopropyl Alcohol • Replacement 1 oz. Plastic Cups (P/N 58-0030)
• Clean Shop Cloth • One Replacement Banjo Wiper (P/N 02-1570-03)
• Rubber Gloves

To replace the purge boot:
1. If a dispensing program is running, click on
Pause in the FmNT Run Window.
> The dispensing system will complete the current workpiece and then pause.
2. With no dispense program running, open the dispensing system Hatch.
3. Remove the Purge Station Cover shown in Figure 9-1.
WARNING! Follow all manufacturer MSDS, facility requirements, and local ordinances
concerning personal protective equipment and disposal of hazardous materials.
4. Grip the top of the purge boot with needle-nosed pliers and pull it out from the top of the
cover. Discard the used purge boot.
> Tearing the boot will not cause a problem because it is being replaced.
