Heater Verification
1. Connect the Power Cable to the facility outlet, switch Main Circuit Breaker to
ON (I) position, press
the green
ON (I) button on the Operator’s Console, and enter FmNT.
2. Heater elements generating heat?
Go to Step 3
Go to Temperature Controller Verification in this subsection.
3. Are the Heater Cables correctly and securely connected?
Correct, secure Heater Cable connections, and
then go to Step 4.
Go to Step 4
4. Exit FmNT, shut down Windows NT, press the black OFF (0) button on the Operator’s Console,
switch Main Circuit Breaker to
OFF (0) position, and disconnect Power Cable from the facility outlet.
5. Check the Thermal Switch on the bottom of Heater Tooling.
6. Is the Thermal Switch in the out position?
Go to Step 7
Depress the Thermal Switch. This should eliminate the fault. If fault reoccurs,
contact Asymtek Technical Support.
7. Measure resistance between Heater Connector Pin 1 and Pin 2.
8. Does the resistance read 30 ohms for a single Element Heater or 60 ohms for a dual Element Heater?
Heater Tooling has failed. See Parts
Replacement
section.
Go to Step 9
9. Inspect both fuses on each Heater Channel located on Temperature Controller panel.
10. Is the fuse open?
Go to Step 11
Replace the fuse. See
Parts Replacement section.
