8-68 Troubleshooting

Y- Axis Linear Encoder Verification

1. In the Dispenser Terminal Window, type M401 and press [Enter] on the Keyboard. A numerical

value should appear.

WARNING! CAUTION!

Use caution when reaching your hand into the dispensing chamber while system

is under power. Failure to take appropriate precautions could result in injury or

property damage.

2. Manually, move the Dispensing Head in the X-axis.

3. Again, type M401 and press [Enter]. Note the value returned.

4. Are the two numerical values from Step 1 and Step 3 different?

Go to Step 13

Go to Step 5

5. Manually move the Dispensing Head to the mechanical hard stops in the front left corner of the

dispensing chamber.

6. Type M401 and press [Enter] on the Keyboard.

7. Manually move the Dispensing Head in random directions at different speeds trying to cover the

entire dispensing chamber.

8. Return the Dispensing Head to the mechanical hard stops in the front left corner of the dispensing

chamber.

9. Again type M401 and press [Enter].

10. Record the difference between the numeric values noted in Step 6 and Step 9.

11. Repeat Steps 5 through 10 three times.

12. Is the difference of any set of the numbers greater than 200 counts?

Linear Encoder is not root cause of following error

fault. Go to Step 8 in “PMAC Fatal Following Error

Verification” in 8.2.1, PMAC Initialization Fault

Stop here. Linear Encoder is root cause of following error fault. Contact

Asymtek Technical Support to verify fault.
