Table 7-5 Dispensing Head Finds Home (continued)
OCCURS SIMULTANEOUSLY
Component Function Component Function
Z Servo
Motor
1. Receives power from the Z Servo
Amplifier.
2. Turns the drive gear (pinion) that
moves the Dispensing Head in the
Z-axis.
X and Y
Rotary
Encoders
Supply velocity and acceleration
information to the PMAC.
Z Rotary
Encoder
Supplies velocity and acceleration
information to the PMAC.
X and Y Hall
Sensors
Sense X and Y Servo Motor winding
rotational directions and report them to
the X and Y Servo Amplifiers.
Z Hall
Sensor
Senses rotational direction of Z Servo
Motor windings and reports it to the Z
Servo Amplifier.
Home
Sensors
Optical switches on Y-axis senses when
the Dispensing Head has reached its
Y-axis home position. Position
information is routed through the Servo
Interface PWA and reported to PMAC.
X and Z
Home
Sensors
Optical switches on X and Z-axes sense
when the Dispensing Head has reached
its X and Z home position. Position
information is routed through the XY
Servo Interface PWA and reported to
PMAC.
X and Y
Linear
Encoders
Supply Dispensing Head position
information to the PMAC.
